Il campo profughi palestinese di Yarmouk in Siria si è trasformato in un quartiere inabitabile a causa della guerra civile.
Yarmouk, il vasto sobborgo di Damasco, che fu sede della più grande comunità di profughi palestinesi in Siria, è stato trasformato in rovine dalla guerra civile. La popolazione di Yarmouk di 250.000 si è ridotta a 18.000 dall’inizio della guerra.
Mentre continua il conflitto armato in Yarmouk, il numero dei morti tra i palestinesi continua a salire. Le Nazioni Unite e alcuni paesi hanno espresso la loro preoccupazione per la crisi nella regione. Tuttavia, le segnalazioni di morti sono senza fine.
Le ultime foto da Yarmouk dimostrano che il campo, così come l’intero quartiere, non è più abitabile per i profughi.
I funzionari delle Nazioni Unite dicono che non sono stati in grado di entrare nella zona per la fornitura di aiuti di cui c’è disperatamente bisogno da settembre 2013 e hanno lanciato un appello lo scorso mese perchè l’esercito siriano e i combattenti ribelli consentano agli aiuti urgenti di raggiungere il campo di Yarmouk, dove è stato detto che 15 persone ( oltre 40, dati aggiornati – ndp) sono morte di malnutrizione .
Il ministro degli Esteri turco Ahmed Davutoglu ha avvertito circa la crisi nella regione, dicendo che ‘la crisi in Siria sta peggiorando; il bombardamento con le botti del regime contro la popolazione civile ad Aleppo è inaccettabile e c’è una tragedia in corso in Yarmouk e Muaddamiyah.’
La Siria ospita mezzo milione di palestinesi, che vivono come rifugiati del conflitto del 1948 che ha portato alla creazione dello Stato sionista di Israele.

Yarmouk, the vast suburb of Damascus that was home to the largest Palestine refugee community in Syria, has been ruined by the civil conflict. Yarmouk’s population of 250,000 has dwindled to 18,000 since the beginning of the war.
As the armed conflict continues in Yarmouk, the death toll among Palestinians continues to rise. The UN and some countries voiced their concern about the crisis in the region. However, the death reports have seen no end.
The latest photos from Yarmouk shows that the camp, as well as the entire district, is no longer habitable for the refugees.
UN officials say they have been unable to enter the area to deliver desperately needed relief supplies since September 2013 and they appealed last month for the Syrian army and rebel fighters to allow urgent aid to reach the Yarmouk camp where it said 15 people have died of malnutrition.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu warned about the crisis in the region, saying ‘the crisis in Syria is getting worse; the regime’s barrel bombardment on civilians in Aleppo is unacceptable and there is an ongoing tragedy in Yarmouk and Muaddamiyah.’
Syria is home to half a million Palestinians, who have been living as refugees of the 1948 conflict which led to the creation of the Zionist state Israel.
